For Josh Bennett, building isn’t just a business, it’s a way of life. After years of hands-on work across Ouray County, from custom new home builds to full-scale renovations, he brings the same care to every job site that he brings to his own community, including as a volunteer firefighter on the mesa where he lives.
Design is where his wife, Sharon Tate, comes in. Sharon transformed the Bennetts’ own home from a dated ranch house into a beautiful craftsman-style home, and she’s brought that same eye for design to other renovation projects around Ouray County.
Together, Josh and Sharon bring something most contractors can’t: a build and a design vision under one roof. In 2027, they’ll celebrate 30 years of marriage, three decades spent building not just houses, but a life together.

Josh Bennett founded BCC in 2020 with a simple but non-negotiable standard: every client leaves completely satisfied. Not mostly satisfied. Not satisfied enough. Completely. That means if something isn’t right, if a finish doesn’t look the way it should, or a detail doesn’t sit well, it gets fixed. Josh has walked away from jobs spending more than he made because he wasn’t willing to leave a project he wasn’t proud of. The reviews reflect that. So do the referrals.

Josh brings over 25 years of hands-on construction experience to every project, earned across a wide range of residential work from ground-up custom homes to full gut renovations and everything in between. He founded Bennett Construction Company in 2020, putting that experience to work for homeowners across Ouray County and the surrounding area.
BCC is built on three things: reliability, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to the craft. Josh doesn’t cut corners, doesn’t overpromise, and doesn’t disappear once the contract is signed. What you see is what you get: a contractor who cares as much about the finished product as you do.
